Re: Classic Maple Bearing Edges

Just buy a new Ludwig ClubDate SE kit.
The 6 ply shells have round edges and the cheery/ gum wood is in between maple and vintage 3 ply in tone.

Re: Wrong size tension rods?

Funny how what first appears to be so simple can suddenly become so complicated.
Good thing that you don't work on aircraft or automobiles for a living. Someone would have been seriously injured or...

Re: Gretsch bearing edges 60's and 70's

You are welcome. I'm glad that you appreciated the vids like I did when I first watched them.
They really put vintage American drums into perspective.

Re: Gretsch bearing edges 60's and 70's

Gretsch was an inovator in shell design and bearing edge cuts.
I had a Gretsch kit from the mid seventies that had full round over edges.
Before that I recall the outside round over edges that...

Re: Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughn

I prefer to shuffle it a bit. I like the way the tune feels when it is played that way. I do play it straight on occasion though and it works that way too. I would ask the band what they prefer at...

Re: Multiple Kit Owners, Show Your Favorite Kit

We all seem to have that one kit that is like a special home cooked meal that you always look forward to eating.
It doesn't necessarily have to be the fanciest, or most expensive meal either....

Re: Snare drum throw-off problems..??

Hi, and welcome Alex. Mapex makes great snare drums. There are many things that can affect snare performance. Your problem is probably something minor. Perhaps there are one or two wires on your...

Multiple Kit Owners, Show Your Favorite Kit

This was one of them; What If I could only keep one of my kits?
Which one would I keep?

I thought for a long time and I did reach a tough decision.
I will...

Re: I need help picking a drumset!

You are setup pretty good there Victor. Your drums match pretty well and they look good.

Re: I need help picking a drumset!

Good advice here Victor.
Either buy a used tom or play your kit as it is until you have ample funds to buy a pro kit.
If the drums in your kit that you have now don't match you can buy inexpensive...

Find a used 10" rack tom that is either a Tama Silverstar or one that matches your kit.
eBay has single drums constantly for sale.
You could even find a matching Silverstar kit to your 13" tom...
