Re: Drummer- the only musician that can't mess up?

Re: The Rim Shock - Auxiliary Percussion for the Drum Kit

Your question & attitude does not surprise me. On Facebook I have seen a few actually verbally attack me regarding this comparison. I have been working on the Rim Shock in particular since I started...

Re: The Rim Shock - Auxiliary Percussion for the Drum Kit

It is on the Kickstarter link. Thanks for your interest.

That sounds like a great idea. I am going to experiment with that. Thanks.

Re: The Rim Shock - Auxiliary Percussion for the Drum Kit

Thanks to everyone for their interest. I not quite third of the days have past and not quite a third towards the goal. Any support will be appreciated. :)

Re: The Rim Shock - Auxiliary Percussion for the Drum Kit

The Rim Shock - Auxiliary Percussion for the Drum Kit

The Rim Shock - Auxiliary Percussion for the Drum Kit

Over my years of walking through the NAMM show, I always felt there was a niche that could be filled by products that really pushed the sonic...

Re: Letting go vs focusing

I would suggest letting go regardless of mistakes. Mistakes are always going to happen. Listen to Neil Peart live, a player who is about as analytic as any player can be. You will see he makes just...

Re: Strange idea for sticks

Not a common enough issue & concern for drummers that warrants a product design strictly for us. For those few that do, I am sure there is some sort of home remedy that can help. Those are the type...

Re: Tour Time

Good luck. 6 weeks is a LONG time in one stretch for me. I try to stay positive and remember 1hr is the playing and 23hrs are dealing with these people personally.

Re: What were you doing at half your age?

I just started at Berklee in Boston. I was playing in this band that played 2-4 days a week (THUR-SUN) somewhere between DC and NH while I was attending classes. We were pretty terrible, but we had a...

Re: PLAYING FOR A LIVING

I'd like to say that is a 100%, but I was once fired because I didn't "party".

Re: How much did you get paid for your first paid performance/studio/etc?

My first gig I am not sure how much I got paid, all I know was I got paid for selling tickets ahead of time more than I was to play. They gave us a ton of tickets that cost everyone $6 each and we...

Re: My first stadium/arena gig tomorrow!

Good luck.

The interesting thing to me about huge shows, I never get nervous for them. On the other hand, I've gotten nervous from time to time when I played a real small venue when in the...

Re: Tight bond, are hoarder?

Mine was a piece, but someone stole it anyway. I do not miss it. I have pics.

My second kit, cost my life savings at 16. It burned to the ground in college. I do not miss it. I have pics.

My...

Re: Like a virgin, Yamaha bass drum plate.

I am not sure which company made these first, but Pearl made theirs after a request by those in a "Wish List" thread on their forum.

Re: Future of Music

Playing on jingles are way of the past, no? At least to the extent it used to be.

I believe programming is a big part as well as bands leasing their songs. Though many have done it in years...

Re: Half time shuffles

I love Fool in the Rain, but Toto and whatever that was at the end of Pocaro's lesson drained me.

Re: Worst idea in Drumming

I just realized how this was, but I commented never the less.

Playing live, I agree with you but I loved mine for recording.

Not the most comfortable things to set-up either.

Mind you I...

Re: Evil Metronome

I can give you a visual. The best analogy I can state is when you are playing on top of the beat and not rushing, it feels like a freight train at a consistent MPH. When you are on top and rushing it...
