Re: Any band leaders here?

I've dealt with some great band leaders, and I've also dealt with douchebag band leaders. Well, only really one and I'll tell you the story.

I played in a jazz band, and there were two drummers. -...

Re: What's with Zildjian hate??

I can see why a lot of people may not like Zildjian, since their quality has went downhill since the late 90's. But by the looks of it, they're upping their game!

I've only been playing since...

Re: Gear snobs?

To be honest, I don't really care much about gear in general. If it's good quality, it's a keeper!

I know loads of people who are like "Yeah, I've got a DW" or "I've got 4 kits in my house, I've...

Check this fill out.

A variation of paradiddles I put together to get this cool fill. I just used a basic groove to demonstrate how it can be applied, but you can do quite a lot with it.

Re: Best drum tuner out there?

Your ears. I tune without anything and if it sounds good to me, that's the sound I want.

It usually takes me 10 minutes per drum to find the sound I want.

Re: Loss of too many drum shops in the UK

Drum Central Glasgow closed in December, but there's still one in Edinburgh which I think may be closing down soon. That's all I can think of, there are a few more drum shops in Glasgow but I'm not...

Problem with tom lug.

Hey guys, not posted in a while. But the other day I noticed that one of my bolts kept falling out of my lugs and wouldn't tighten very much. Today, I stripped the drum apart to see what the problem...

Re: Who is your favorite drummer(s)

Gil hasn't played with Dillinger for over 4 years now. They have a new guy, Billy Rymer. Not to mention the drumming on Ire Works is actually Chris Pennie I believe? Apart from like 2 or 3 songs. :)

Re: How to sound relaxed and less rushy

My dad has this problem, I try to teach him how to be more relaxed which just annoys him and he tenses up and tries to play as hard as he can (which is probably why I have to replace so many of my...

Re: Earning your gear?

Well to sum it up, I'd be happy with my Mapex Meridian Maple all my life! And a Mapex Saturn. Don't think I'll need another drum set after I get a Mapex Saturn or an RCI. But that's just me! I love...

Re: Earning your gear?

When I first started learning to play drums I was playing on a beginners Peavey kit with one ride and a set of hi-hats then got a Paiste 101 Brass Crash cymbal the next year for Christmas. 2 years.

Brann Dailor's Meinl Videos

Meinl seem to be doing all these videos of Brann Dailor from Mastodon gigs. They are really awesome! Just the drums and guitar tracks. I really like them!

Re: Famous drummers you have met

I've met Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters and I met Florian Alexandru-Zorn the other week.
Both were really nice and great, genuine, down to earth people.

Catalina Maple or Meridian Maple. Both are relatively close, but they are just awesome drums! Laquer finished too and built like a pro kit. Go for it!

Re: Really? The drums themselves sound good?

My dad is a guitarist and he has a few guitars. He's got a Vintage Strat, A PRS SE Custom, An EVH and a couple of acoustics. I have a Squier Tele (because I'm not much of a guitar player, I...

Re: Florian Alexandru-Zorn - Blast Beats with Brushes.

It's more of a thing he calls blast beats for brushes, it's pretty cool though! And it sounds cool, and sounds like a blast beat only on heads haha!
