Re: Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz - Mounted Tom

That mount should work fine.
I have the earlier GCCJ kit which came with a 4 hole mount - works just fine.
Cheers

Re: Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Owners

Agree Mark - got mine for a ridiculous price (used of course).

The thing is that having owned the later model a few months ago, I find this kit so much nicer - for a start the bass drum is awesome...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Owners

Regarding my kit pictured a couple of messages back, does anyone know where I can get those long bass drum tension rods?

Thanks

Pete :-)

Have you (or anyone reading this) any idea of the true date of manufacture of my kit (single lug version) - I was told 2007???? Would like to know out of interest - can't find much on...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Owners

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

I am truly mad (a case of GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome!!!)

Yes, as per my earlier posts, I bought the fab Gretsch CCJ in the Rustic red pearl - it was primarily for the...

Re: Bass Drum Pillows or no pillows

I know this is all very subjective and is all about personal taste but I NEVER use any bedding in my bass drums, neither do I tape up toms, snares and cymbals. I go for tone and natural sound - but I...

Hey Chromium

Try this guy - he is the main Premier distributor for USA, is great and very helpful guy who knows more about Premier than Premier!!
He is a member on these forums "dancincrow".

Re: Premier is getting there

Hi

I have to admit that I don't like the "natural wood" look at all on any drum kit - give me color/tinted lacquer any time. I like finishes that really catch the eye or are classy under lights....

Re: Various birch birch birch.

I cannot comment on the actual birch wood details but I played a Pearl Masters Studio birch kit for several years - it was a great kit but I had tuning issues with the 10" and 14" toms - -when I say...

Re: My new Premier Genista

I can testify to that here!!
Peter's support and service is excellent. He has helped me turn my 90's Genista into an amazing kit (and I am in Australia !!! - distance is no barrier !!)

Strongly...

Re: My new Premier Genista

Hey Sidewinder...
Congrats on the great kit.
I would love to have one of these "new" Genistas and see how different they are to my 90's Genista (made in England) - both birch - would be great to...

Re: Why no love for Vintage Premier?

Gee I hate you guys for attaching those old Premier pictures (joking) - I just loved my old Premier kit - bought it around 1971 - 4 piece silver sparkle (with Premier 2000 snare) - had it for several...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Owners

I was going to ask about this earlier - here in Oz, the GCCJ kits are sold without any bass drum riser - so - who else uses them and finds them an advantage?

I had a friend play my kit so I could...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Owners

Hi Piebe

I actually like it so far - haven't experienced any issues and seems solid and stable - however, reading back a bit I note that a few are unhappy with it - not really quite sure...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Owners

Hi all

Well, I am shocked - took my brand new Gretsch CCJ kit out for its maiden gig last night (5 piece jazz band) - I can't believe how great it sounded - basically "out of the box" (I did a bit...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz Owners

Just became a Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz owner!!! Had it now for 3 hours.

I needed a kit like this to play in my Jazz combo - this kit is awesome even straight out of the box. It came with decent...

Re: 16" tom - legs or no legs??

Thanks for suggestion - this is the way i think I will go.

How does this "basket" attach to the tom - I can't see a clear enough picture on their website.

Many thanks

Pete

Oh! and thanks...
