Re: Pain in the joint of left hand

I don't know about fixing any kind of joint problems, but there's nothing wrong with the new way you are gripping the stick if that works out better for you. Good Luck.

not pushing the envelope?

I play everyday on my kit at home and I play on my practice pad almost everyday. My chops get slightly better with time but it's a very slow and gradual process. I've been playing for about 8 years...

Re: to count or not to count

Not to get off topic, but I knew a guy that used to always hum when he played the drums. I didn't realize that other people might have this 'affliction' lol.

Re: Right Earplugs?

i use earplugs that I 'acquire' from my work. They work well to reduce the db level by around 30. Just remember to put them in properly. Hold the top of your ear and pull it up and back just a...

I use the same grip when practicing, playing or whatever. German with the fulcrum at my second knuckle of the index finger and thumb. I occasionally go to french grip with my left hand on the snare...

Re: Junior set or standard size?

I would have to say the junior kit. It would just be a better fit for the tyke. My son is 4, but he doesn't play drums very much. I'm actually hoping he picks up the guitar so he can jam with dad!

When I lived there I used to go to some drum shop on Academy. Is that still there? It was a cool little place, and I can't remember the name for the life of me.

Re: Best drumming album of all time?

Re: well... need some advice??

We are all our own worst critics. It's hard to tell if it's just your self perception or if you really do look stupid when you play. I'm sure in most cases it's the former. My advice to you is not...

I was wondering if anyone does the hand clapping thing that jojo does in his new DVD and if you've seen results from it. It seems like a good muscular warmup/workout.
