Re: Good Trade?

Well we didn't trade the drums. I got my PDP back. However I did trade him the Joey snare for his AA Metal-X crash and AAX Metal crash. I love the AA crash. It is a very versatile medium weight crash...

Re: Good Trade?

Well the thing is, it is just the wrap that is a limited edition. At least that is what my friend said. It has a really attention calling wrap that I want to get it rewrapped. Its kind of cheezy too....

Re: Good Trade?

I have been thinking about it and it turns out that I really don't like the wrap too much. It is really attention calling with all of the shapes and colors (I will post a pic later). So is it...

Re: Good Trade?

Well I actually do not know how much it is worth. But there are only 15 of these exact snares. He won it in a raffle at the Texas Big Beat which is somewhat of a drumming convention.

Good Trade?

I traded my friend my Joey Jordison snare and a PDP CX Maple snare for his limited edition 14X8 Mapex Black Panther snare. It has a really cool wrap and is made of maple and walnut. We are only doing...

Re: 16" Floor Tom to Bass Drum

Just the tom hoops and the riser that comes with the converter. Its probably cheaper too. I do not have a lot of money to spend. Plus it is not a good drum anyways.

Re: 16" Floor Tom to Bass Drum

How are you liking the stage custom? Im picking up a used one tomorrow. The exact same year. Do I need those other parts if I am just planning to put the tom on a snare stand? Can you post a picture...

Re: Snare wire preference...

I just went to Guitar Center yesterday and picked up some Tama 42 strand snares to replace the stock PDP ones and to just rey it out for fun. They took off a lot of the ring, made the drum more...

16" Floor Tom to Bass Drum

I want to convert my floor tom to a bass drum. Which is the best converter to do so. It seems like the JG16 by Pearl is the one that everyone uses. However, I want to know if it fits most drums or...

Re: 1997 Yamaha Stage Custom

Well my cymbals aren't bad.
The cymbal that I wanted to change out is my 20" A Custom Crash. It is my least favorite cymbal. I just wanted a darker crash. The thing I hate most about the Pearl is...

1997 Yamaha Stage Custom

Have stage customs always been made of birch? I might buy one on craigslist but I do not want another poplar or basswood kit. I want to upgrade not stay the same. Also would this be a decent upgrade...

Re: Drum lug just broke on PDP CX snare?!?!

The exact thing just happened to me. It worked just fine yesterday when I was tuning it, but I tried to change the snare head today and it happened. Exact same snare too.

Re: Best Versatile Snare for under $200

Well although the acrolite is a great sounding drum, my biggest dissapointment is the throwoff. 3 of the snares at my school are Ludwigs and the throwoff does not work properly on any of them. They...

Re: Best Versatile Snare for under $200

I use 7A's and play as quiet as possible on a rimshot on my Joey Jordison snare, and it still makes me flinch when I hit it. I specifically do NOT want anything that loud. The TAMA metalworks sounds...

Re: Best Versatile Snare for under $200

Oh and zarrdoss, Is the TAMA Metalworks extremely loud? And can it be used for jazz? I really can't judge volume and sensitivity by youtube videos.

Re: Best Versatile Snare for under $200

Yeah I have heard the Mapex Saturn snare. It was a 14X8. I wasn't too impressed by it. I looked up the Supra. It's nice but the ones on ebay are still kind of pricey. I also wanted a newer or brand...

Best Versatile Snare for under $200

I want something that is good for jazz, funk, latin, rock, and stuff like that. I do NOT want something terribly loud and overpowering. I just recieved a Joey Jordison signature snare from a friend...

Re: Tama Silverstar Jazz, or HHX Groove Ride?

Also, can't believe i forgot this, but the mounting system on the pearl ELX is the dumbest thing that I have ever seen. The whole tom is basically suspended by the rim, which causes it to get way out...
