Wiktionary has 'em all.

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Appendix:Glossary_of_collective_nouns_by_subject

And this is their entry for us:

Re: Whats the weirdest thing you ever broke on your kit during a gig?

I just remembered another great story that I gotta pass on... Nothing was broken per se, but still left a mark...

In my last year of high school, my band played at a "pit party". For anyone who...

Re: Whats the weirdest thing you ever broke on your kit during a gig?

Nearly the exact same thing happened to me about a year and 1/2 ago... We were a few song into a gig at a bar, and a local university act had opened for us.. The other drummer and I were sharing...

Re: Tuning to pitches...yes? no?

I've always kinda done it this way:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fplyqddXutQ

Skip ahead to 2:10 for tom tuning stuff.

I'm not nearly as much of a perfectionist when it comes to tuning,...

Re: playing drums while being sore from the gym

I started a serious cross-fit routine a few months ago, and found it difficult to sit behind the drums and play. That lasted for about two weeks, and now it doesn't bother me at all.

Seriously,...

Re: Practice attitude vs Playing attitude

This is gold. It almost transcends music and should be applied to pretty much every aspect of our lives! Aside from the guy running the power plant...

I love the distinction he makes with...

Re: 11 Legendary & Most Used Drum Breaks (aka samples from old funk/soul records used in hip-hop)

Thanks! I'm gonna be playing with those all week.

It reminded me of this vid I watched a while back, about the Amen Break, what is claimed to be the most widely used drum sample of all time. ...

Re: Drums - the stage prop du jour (Grammies content)

Funny. The lead singer in my band suggested we play this, so we've been rehearsing it the last few practices. I asked her the other day if she'd like me to bring in an extra floor tom for her to...

Re: Mapex @ NAMM 2014

I think "Mars" refers to the hardware line. It looks to me like Falcon, Armory, and Mars are the new hardware lines, along with the new Black Panther snares.

FWIW, I've got a Falcon HH stand...

Re: App for repeating parts of songs?

Hey Magenta, I just wanted to say that on your recommendation for Anytune Pro, I downloaded it, but then never really used it... I finally got into it today, and realized how powerful it is... A...

Re: The Drum Solo

It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one in this camp... I never really understood the idea that a drum solo HAS to be all by itself while the other guys walk off stage or stand around...

Re: The tip jar

How about in Asia? I live in Taiwan, and Tipping IS a city here.... Jokes..

Seriously tho, the concept of leaving a tip of any kind doesn't exist here. Taxis, restaurants, bars, etc, no way. ...

Re: Rant!

Staying slightly off topic, but we call those clowns MP3-J's. The guy who stands behind a macbook and a mixer wearing a trucker hat, nodding his head and pointing at people, all the while pretending...

Re: Best Mapex series?

I got the Black Panther Blaster kit (2 up 2 down) about 6 months ago, and honestly am still struck by how awesome the sound is from these drums. Plain and simple, they ROCK. The maple/walnut shells...

Re: Overcoming a mental block?

It's funny... We struggle and fight practicing covers, we play through the songs 100s of times, trying to perfect every little accent, every little fill, trying to get the groove just right. ...

Andy (or anyone else for that matter), can you give us some advice on HOW to tune for the situation? This is something that I've struggled with recently, as I seem to find myself in vastly different...

Re: Wikidrummers

They recorded it at Headley Grange, a 3 story stone building in England... Bonham set up under a stairwell on the first floor, then they put the mics on the third floor to capture the sound. Then in...

Re: Removing permanent marker pen from cymbal?

Not to derail the thread, but I remember reading a while back that you had something like 200+ hi-hats Bermuda, and I can only imagine how many other various cymbals.... What kind of code do you use?

Re: A little vent

It happens quite often over here when bands play. The singer will usually yell out for some beers for the band, and then go on playing. I don't really find anything wrong with it, but if the guys...

Thanks ALP, you're exactly right... I know that, and watching him play Saturday night, it was obvious that he was a very good drummer and was keeping the band together...

I talked to another...
