Go to a lumber yard, anywhere that sell seasoned woods will have a variety - dont just restrict yoursel fot maple, great thing about staves is that you cna mix it up a bit.

Latest one - TINY 14x12 Bop Bass Drum - Japanese made Canora brand. Lugs were garbage so replaced with 1967 John Grey lugs and T rods.

All 1967, the shell itself has never been used, was never...

You could always get the hardware powder coated black, thought it would be very cheap. And i would not recommend spray paint... and rim shots or stick clicks and there'll be a lot of ugly silver...

They are hoops/rims that are poured into a mold, and not 'flanged' or bent in anyway, thus there is no mechanical stress on the rims.

Technique wise, this has a greater effect on the tuning of...
