Lana Del Rey

Or as I call her, Lana Chevrolet. I think this pop tart is lacking in talent and after watching several of her live video's, has the stage presence of a cadaver. Very pretty girl so I wonder why she had her lips blown up.
Still I've tried to giver her a chance. She's dropping fast on Billboard album charts 2 for a week...13 for a week...now at 36.

Any thoughts?

Anyway, I think everyone will recognize her drummer in this video.

Yes, very pretty indeed (others would be so envy to have an appearance like her). Except for her mutilated lips. Some people are just handsome by nature but why do they destroy what mother nature has given to them??

Not my kind of pretty, but I can see why many find her goog looking, also she has as much appeal as Rebecca Black, not my taste ... :)

Is that John Blackwell on drums?

Maybe I messed up, I thought it was Dennis Chambers on drums. Embarrassing to miss that. Would he even do a gig like that?

I think she's pretty but maybe not my type. Her music is sketchy but at least she's doing something different. I don't think anyone will know who she is in 5 years but what do I know?

The Rebecca Black reference is funny. Yikes.

Lana and her people deny the lip job but if you look at older pictures of her it's obvious. She was more attractive when things were natural.

Not a huge fan. Some of my peers have tried comparing her to other females in the hip-hop genre, especially those who tend to cross over genres. I haven't listened to enough of her music but I hear her being compared to everyone from Amy Whinehouse to Erykah Badu to Joni Mitchell. Needless to say, my friends aren't big music listeners.

I'm not too hip to her style though. Maybe I should listen to more, but she seems like another one of these artists that a label puts out who does one thing but is intended to appeal to people who like another style of music.

She would drown trying to fill any of those singers shoes.

One of those friends I spoke of is actually at my house at the moment, so I'm giving her another chance. Opinions soon to follow.

*EDIT*

Very monotone, nothing great in the voice department, not very musical. Her tonal range is reminiscent of Regina Spektor's at times, but they are so not in the same league. The production on her album is okay as far as programming and composition goes, but again, nothing special, and a big bummer that there's no musicians..

Certainly, I'd take this over Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj or whomever else is popular now, but I would take Amy Winehouse or Regina Spektor or Fiona Apple over this girl any day.

Another experiment in watch me public relations. OK, which body part will she implant next? talentless. The blue print of all female singers was Laura Nyro. If all ladies could aspire to be like or better than Laura, the music world would be a better place.

Absolutely no argument here.
