I haven't read any discussion of this phenomenal drummer/percussionist. His work with his own trio, David Binney and Rez Abassi is unique and representative of tremendous respect for both the Jazz and Indian classical traditions and clearly indicates a lifetime of diligent study.
I just think he deserves greater recognition in the drumming community for his unique voice and tremendous assimilation of jazz and world music.
This shows him playing "Toy Tune" - one of my favorite Wayne Shorter compositions.

Thanks so much for posting this. Dan is one of the most brilliant players Ive come across in years. He deserves much more recognition... Happy that more people are finding out about him!
