Sandy West - She was the drummer and one of the founding members of The Runaways, all-girl hard rock band in the 1970s. Sandy was an exuberant and powerful rock drummer, a chick with sticks!

She sadly passed away in october 2006, at the age of 47.

Enjoy it fellows! All them "Chicks" rocked big time...

I got to meet her several times. The shop I worked at, we sold her CD and Video's. I think she lived out in San Dimas. She was a really nice woman. Unfortunate that she left us at such an early age.

Harry my brother, thanks for your valuable input...you lived part of the experience in Sandy's life path.

Re: Sandy West

Certainly, just a matter of coincidence, on my part. I was the "register monkey" at Poo-Bah record shop, in Pasadena. Pasadena City College has a flea market, the 1st Sunday of every month. Sandy sold there. One day, she strolled into our shop ... and since we did "consignment" sales ... we hooked her up with us being a retail spot to sell out of. We were about as "alternative" a record shop as you could get. ........ Yeah, Sandy ....... she was a very nice person.

Hello brother

I use to listen to the Runaways as a teenager...

Lita Ford made a successful career later, so is Joan Jett with the unmissable "I love Rock'n'roll".

I'ts really a shame that Sandy's gone... still so young... R.I.P. Sandy.

by the way, that's Joan taking the first pass on the solo. Lita is second.
