The Jerry Nolan Appreciation Thread
Always loved his playing. Very solid, underrated drummer in my opinion. Not flashy at all, but very competent. His recorded output with the New York Dolls and the proper 77 mixes of Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers is great. I don't see him anywhere on the forum and I think he should have a spot, especially if Peter Criss does considering that he taught Peter everything he knew (and was by far the more proficient drummer). I always loved his tone, and not many people know that his Ludwig's were bigger than Bonham's. The drugs definitely had an affect on his playing in the live realm but even a lot of those tapes are decent enough. He's one I would've loved to speak with, seemed like a real nice guy.
