Pedal placement?

Does anyone else have the problem of placement with slave pedal and hi-hat pedal? I have extreme difficulty getting these pedals at a comfortable position. Either the slave pedal is too close to the snare to get comfortable use, or the hi-hats are to far away for me to hit comfortably. If you've had this problem how do you fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Pedal placement?

Depending upon which double pedal and hi hat stand you have, you might be able to put the slave pedal on the left side of the hi hat pedal.

Does your hi-hat stand have adjustable legs?
Some (such as Premier) come with legs you can swivel to make more of a space at the snare side of the pedal.
This means you can have your slave pedal tucked right up by your hi-hat, with no room problems at all.

Hey OnThisDaysDrummer,

just curious, where did you end up placing you slave pedal - to the left or to the right of your hi-hat pedal ?

I am about to start playing double kick and have the same dilemma. Because I like my hats as close as possible to my snare I am thinking to position the slave to the left of the hat pedal.

Not sure if this configuration will work or not ?

RE: Slave to the left of the hats: it works. I do it. My 9000 is practically stretched all the way out but it works. You'll need to have a 2-leg hi-hat stand or a 3-leg with swiveling legs to do it, though, obviously.

You mean like this? Still working on placement.

Exactly like that, except envision that the single pedal on the left kick is the hi-hat pedal.
