Singer wanted! (UK)

Hi all!

My band Sorcerer's Spell has recently parted ways with its singer, and we are now actively seeking a replacement.

We're ostensibly a power metal band, but these days there's a lot of folk and prog elements in there, as well as the lush expansive orchestral stuff, so it's gratifyingly challenging to pigeonhole (within the narrow range of melodic metal, of course...this is the view from the inside...).

We are looking for a male vocalist* with a powerful rock/metal voice and a good range, maybe a baritone with a strong falsetto register. More of a rock voice than a stereotypical power metal vocalist.

Examples would be something like these...

Janne "JB" Christoffersson - Grand Magus

Hansi Kürsch - Blind Guardian

Plus the obvious Bruce Dickinson, Ronnie James Dio, Eric Adams lot...definitely more on the trad metal side than contemporary power metal.

We're based across the south of the UK, so that's the area we're most interested in, but the important thing is finding someone to do it at this point.

*We'll consider anybody at all, if there are any female vocalists that want to have a go feel free, but we have a male singer in mind at this point.

If you know anyone, or would like to have a go yourself, you can either use my Holy Diver instrumental, or a version of our song Jagermeister Metal sans vocals. The original song is on our myspace, a link to which is in my signature.

If you want to get in touch with me about this, just send me a PM.

Shame I live predominantly in the North. I pretty much fit most of that description... although replace 'Baritone' with 'Tenor'...

The register isn't essential, it's only that we don't really want a countertenor or a male soprano. Feel free to record an audition if you like, Duncan, it's interesting for us to compare with others.
