Sheila E.
Can somebody hep me? I was reading Sheila E's page and in her bio it was mentioned that she is the daughter of Pete "Coke" Escovido. Now I'm pretty sure Coke was her uncle and he
over dosed way back in the 80's but I can't remember for sure. I know Pete is still alive. ???

Re: Sheila E.
According to her bio on DrummerWorld: "Before she became a solo artist in 1984, drummer Sheila E. played with Azteca, the Latin jazz-fusion band led by her father, percussionist Pete "Coke" Escovedo."

Re: Sheila E.
According to that most reputable of sites, Wikipedia....Peter Escovedo (the father of Sheila E.) is the brother of Joseph Thomas (Coke) Escovedo.

Peter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Escovedo

Coke: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coke_Escovedo

Sheila: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheila_E.

However, we all know the dangers of Wiki, so make of it what you will.

Didn't want to read the info in the previous post? I know it's only Wiki, but a quick scour there would have revealed this too: http://www.billboard.com/artist/pete...ovedo/bio/6533

From the link: "He and his younger brother, the late Coke Escovedo, both developed quickly as percussionists and became greatly in demand for gigs in Northern California."

Re: Sheila E.
Actually they were married but then they spread a story about being father and daughter so people wouldn't focus on their relationship ... no wait! That's Jack and Meg :)

It seems they're all still alive, anyway. Talented family.

Ringo Starr and Sheila E
I didn't realize Sheila E played in the All Starr Band in 2003. Check out this video - it gets a little interesting around 3:30 - Sheila on percussion:

In this video they are both on drums, solo action around 5:00:

I think she was with him for a couple of tours. Watch her and Edgar Winter do Frankenstein togther...it's pretty awesome too :)

Re: Ringo Starr and Sheila E
She is good on the DVD. However, I much prefer that band with Gregg Bissonette. Peace, goodwill, and blues.
