Post Your Entries - Best Rock Groove

Which Rock Song has the best groove you ever heard? Post a video clip of it. After a few days, re-open this thread and try to rate them all 1-10.

Here's mine - Heavy Fuel by the Dire Straits:

and the most excellent live version in Switzerland:

Unfortunately without Jeff Porcaro, who played the studio version in the first link.

To define "Rock Groove" I feel it is supposed to be "really good hard driving drums behind the song". Duh!

Probably my 2 favorite rock grooves ever are "Enter Sandman"

and

"Smoke on the water"

I should get points for the awesome album cover also. What was going on in the 70s?

Since noone else is likely to, I'll nominate Alex Van Halen's fat groovy craziness from the song "Amsterdam":

Alex has some classic grooves everywhere. They always sound so random, and yet so deep and fat.

Nice thread idea, Strangelove. Not sure if this counts because it's so funky but I always liked the Chili Peppers's Suck My Kiss groove.

Maybe we should ban John Bonham grooves from the thread? Otherwise we'll have a bunch of repeats of When the Levee Breaks, Rock and Roll and Fool in the Rain :)

Then there's Mitch ...

Manic Depression

Fire

I can't help, but for me it's at the moment Steve Jordan - Solomon Burke - Eric Clapton

YOU AND ME from LIKE A FIRE

so well balanced.....from beginning to the end. Deepest pocket imo...

Here the first groove:

I've been on a Spock's Beard kick lately, and though I guess they're technically prog, this song has one of the greatest grooves I've ever heard:

2:23 - there's a really awesome bell pattern that I just love

First thing to come to mind is the ride stuff in Spirit of the Radio.

(first instance of it is around 0:35).

NP does beats like this is a lot of songs (YYZ and others), but it really stands out here.

One of my favourite, it might not be the best.

Mandrake Root / Ian Paice - Deep Purple.

Ouch! The drumming on Fool in the Rain always brings a smile to my face.

Okay, then, how about Richie Hayward's drumming on Time Loves a Hero.
