I've looked, but couldn't find a thread for Brian Bennett. He was the Shadows drummer for most of the 60s, and certainly influenced me, especially in my early days.
He's always impressed me with how he could really drive their upbeat, faster songs, but provide a sensitive backbone to their more mellow tunes.
As with Ringo, listening to Brian taught me that a drummer needs to feel the music and play accordingly. Recently, a guitarist I respect hugely invited me to join a couple of his projects because he needed a drummer "with a good feel for music". Let me tell you, I was pretty chuffed - and I thank Ringo and Brian for what their playing has taught me!

Re: Brian Bennett - the Shadows
Yep.....the old man was a big fan of 'The Shads'.....so grew up listening to Brian. Solid, groovey and perfect behind a guy like Hank Marvin....what more can I say. They actually tour Oz next month. I bought dad tix for the Melb show as a way of saying thanks for introducing me to quality musicians when i was a lad!!
