Rage Against the Machine

Made it to number one in the UK Singles Chart for the Christmas single with 'Killing in the Name'.

A concerted effort by all of those who really dislike TV talent shows. What a day, what a fantastic result.

I very nearly wet myself with excitement, a glorious result. Their Five Live performance was outstanding also.

This is the best chrimbo present ever, hands down! Unfortunately this will not be much of a blow to Sony or Simon twatface, since rage are on the same record label as Joe Mctwatface, and it has given them and x factor lots of publicity, but it is a moral victory for us music lovers and that's for sure. Loved the BBC performance where they did a swear, twas fantastic stuff, a hark back to the old days of musical rebellion.

Yeah bet this made the presenter feel like a bit of a prat for telling everyone to buy joe mcelderberrys record or whatever the hell he's called.

So glad they won, but really does it even matter? I mean who cares how popular the music is as long as you like it?

On an individual level of course it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, but this was people interfering with the X-factor message. It's nothing to do with money, Simon Cowell doesn't need any more and I'm sure 400,000 digital downloads is a pittance to him. No, this was the first big threat to his cultural monopoly, the silent majority getting together to say that no, they won't buy what you tell them. Very satisfying.

i don't see what is so great about them winning. If xfactor won, then it would have been bad, but the way that RAGTM won is also bad!....music is definatly the loser in my opinion, they didn't win because of their music, they were just the the song that the anti xfactor people backed........if they had won by the song alone, then it would have been good, but this is just petty stuff by some people, the only people that benifit are rage against the machine and all the money they have just got....

but by the way, i love the song and i hate joe!!!
