I heard that by the time traktor was done laying down his tracks in the studio, everyone was just on the floor!

That was great. I remember i was on holiday once and i took my bass with me and i played it along to a pendulum clock. Sadly the clock was a bit lopsided so it was a bit of a swing type of rhythm.

It really is a sad story though, the drummer suffered a fatal accident while plowing the back 40. As the story goes, he was checking the PTO and the Traktor just moved over him. That really sucks cause he was an awesome Rock drummer.

So this is the true meaning of tuning up. It's a loud but expensive metronome.

Here is a Tractdrummer getting warmed up before a gig http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aL5nWsrhKs I guess that we will have to change the name of the forum to Tractorworld! Usually the drummer gets plowed at a gig, He doesn't do the plowing! Heres a link for The Big Kit vs Small Kit Thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9T0r...eature=related
Here is a pic of my Drum Kit. It is a three cylinder. Its great for jazz! As you can see from the pic, It drinks three twelve packs before each gig!

It's cool to see how much fun those guys were having, and playing very well too. I wonder how it came about. "Hey, that tractor's keeping good time. Listen to it. Let's play something and see what happens. Billy-Bob, get that video camera."
I also like the microphone on the exhaust pipe.

So, was that groove vs. chops? Where was the MUSICALITY?

Seriously, though, machines can make some cool rhythms. Washing machines and dryers and those old-style mechanical gas pumps make trippy rhythms.

Man, i definitely felt it- very classy stuff. those tractor solos, man they blew me away...kept the feel so well and didn't overplay

And had they just kicked it in gear, you would have seen it chops

HA! The feel was a bit mechanical for my tastes.

LOL

That's what I call a selfless drummer. A bit of work on the endings and it can say goodbye to the farmyard ...

Tom Waits apparently wrote a whole tune to the rhythm he heard his washing machine make after his son (I think?) threw a pair of shoes in there.

The anyone notice after the tune was over the tractor was still playing?
