Yeah, happy chrismas everybody. Let's sing and be happy, and all that stuff. Not only now, but always. Christmas spirit should overcome us more often, right? Take it easy.

Greetings from a relatively warm Portugal. (Can you guys in the north believe I have a nice stove right here in my room and I don't feel the need to light it? I want snow, bugg'rit!)

You can have all the snow you want from here in cozy Illinois. And ice for that matter.. take some slush too. The roads are so nasty right now but for the time being I'm putting up with it since friday my family is leaving for the phillipines (my mom's relatives). What a climate shift right? Merry christmas everyone

I would like to wish everyone at DW a Happy Holiday Season. My wife and I are being reunited with our children who have been away at collage and in the service of the US military at this special time of year. It has been lonely for us since September when our kids left us to fulfill their future goals. It is truly a special time that has new meaning to us as "Empty Nesters" Best wishes to all of you and yours.

Thank you, and yes we are proud of them. It is a special feeling when your children return home to you after being away for a period of time. It is one that is new to me and my wife. They have been out visiting their friends the past few nights. I hear them returning home late at night and it is comforting to me.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year.

I also want to thank you all for being such a great community. We had a very smooth year

- great threads, much fun and most important: banning tends to zero.

So my big thanks go also to our administrators Nutha Jason and Dog Breath.

We are going now into our fifth year...how time flies by...

What will the future bring?

For the Forum and also the Drummerworld Website i can say:

Times of extreme growth are over - situation with visitors is very stable, i think we found our place with the forum

- also Drummerworld Website stays by far the No. 1 site in the world for drumrelated matters

- 45000 different visitors a day - Datatransfer 19 Terabytes a month.

Expenses for webhosting, streaming videos are still very high - earnings from advertising are as always very moderate and low.

---

But despite the Financial Crisis happening all over the world:

The Funds behind Drummerworld are still there and the reserves sufficient.

So the good news:

The forum and the website will stay free. No fees and charges will come up in the future.

There are now new websites around with concepts of paying for educational content - like drumlessons or fees for premium content.

These programs will not work - unless someone proves me wrong.

The nature of the internet goes for free access for everybody and everything - revenue must come from advertising.

Only exception till now: selling goods physically and also pornographic content - of course, because they have no advertisers....

---

Drummerworld will work on these things next year:

1. Improving video Quality, Rebrushing all 1000 existing videos to HD or bigger sizes - more length.

2. Improving the Drum Clinic Section: more content, more lessons, better structure and system.

So again:

I WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Bernhard

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thank you Bernhard. I truly enjoy the wealth of information and overall very friendly discourse that goes on in the forum. Thanks DB and NJ for spending your time and keeping an eye out. The vibe hear is good because of you.

2008 was a rough year. My life was a little better for stopping-in to talk drums all the time.

Thanks again.
