Cool Jobs of Forum Members

I understand there is already a thread for what you do, BUT, this is for us with a really original or cool job:)
So Best Buy didn't work out, and as of today, I'm now working at a Hooters:)
Quite the amazing job, the people I know already are amazing people, the women are amazing as well, and I can only imagine what else I will encounter.
I may not have much of a belief in God, but if there is one, this is surely a blessing upon me:)
This is a great opportunity to share work stories as well:)

I got to be part of the team that tested that GBU-28 "bunker buster" and another that tested the AMRAAM missile. That was kinda cool.

I guess the coolest was helping airlift Presidential and secret service vehicles when he travels.

I guess that's pretty cool. But how do you even know that? you remember the little kids names' you umpired? I sure dont lol.

Working at cold stone must be a sweet job (no pun intended).

I guess it's just like one of those things where you would only remember them if they were mentioned to you later like if they became famous or something, if that makes sense? Maybe he kept having to shout at him cos he kept breaking the rules all the time :p.

I am UNEMPLOYED. However i'm applying to do automotive engeneering next year at uni so i will be donning the boiler suit and spanner set (nah i think it's slightly more sophisticated than that :p) so that should be pretty cool.

I have a job in the IT industry but there is one cool aspect, i get to travel the world. Dinner in downtown Paris, or on a canal in Venice. Scuba diving on the great barrier reef to name a few. It has been a very cool opportunity for me.

75,000 just for the bathroom. I would have to go outside rather than do my business in such luxury. Man.

Always tunes the drums himself. ( takes a long time over them.. longer than one might think..). Not overly obsessed with what shells he plays as long as he's got his sizes, heads & tuning right. Contrary to popular belief, he is heck of a nice guy who takes great trouble to support and encourage the 'less fortunate' amongst us.

Much like rmandelbaum, I too am in the IT industry. But instead of traveling the world - I get to live in Vail, Colorado.

BTW - We've got 2 feet of new snow in the last 4 days and are under a winter storm warning for another foot starting tonight. To heck with the economy - COME SKIING, it's dumping out here!

My job sucks...have ever heard pilots complaining because they really don't want to fly?
They just want to sit at home...collecting their monthly guarantee.

Oh yeah, and don't forget the minus six-degrees on monday, as well as the ten-degree weather that we're having right now.

I'm unemployed, I need to focus on school. I might work at King Sooper's or something during the summer.

I'm in IT, so I get to sit around all day and play with computers, and tell some other people what to do. That's kinda cool. But all the "fun" sites are blocked: no uTube, Facebook, porn, etc. LOL

I also coached the local YMCA Swimming team in Maryland and one of the kids, Jonathan Ward, was one of the kids on Charles in Charge, TV Show, had the lead in the movie Mac and Me, and was also in a movie with Kevin Bacon called, White Water Summer. I have talked to him once since I left Maryland in 1987. My brush with the famous.

I get to spend money for one of the largest Trucking companies in the U.S. It kills me every time I look at the volume of cash is spent on Truck parts. All I see is: "there's my new Zildjian K's", "there's my new Odery kit". I wonder if I could cut a P.O. to my music shop? jk
The thought has never crossed my mind... lol

I will be starting a position as audio technician for ASU this coming spring.
I also fly people around on a fuel-fee scale only (since the FAA won't let me fly for money until I give them lots of my money ;) ).
I am engineering and master-planning the renovation and construction of an off-grid, remote, dog-shelter in the mountains of N. Arizona.
I "own" my own shell company as a small-scale sustainability consultant and LEED AP
I am a recycling intern and coordinator on the ASU campus.
I create web content systems for an online K-12 school in Ohio.

172's primarily because their cheap to rent and about all I can get easy access to in Phoenix.
Do you do any commercial operations or just occasional paid flights?

I'm not Commercial rated. Life gets in the way of making that happen though I did pull off my IFR and Multi-Engine a few years ago. My dream is to get my commercial rating and do island hoppers for some tiny company to and from the Bahamas. I know alot of guys who do those trips in single engines and IMO they are out of thier minds to even try it. I know 2 people that died last year from doing it.

A friend of mine owns a King Air 350 (rich guy who owns an FBO) and I get to fly left seat every now and then, though I tend to find that the B200 is more economical and easier to handle... go figure.

I still love the 172 and the 150. Great aircraft. I used to work for Piper a number of years ago and I got behind the Malibu Meridian a few times, man is that thing tight. I love it.
