Darren King
Anyone ever heard of him?
He's the drummer for a band called Mute Math, one of my personal favorites.
His studio recordings are pretty great, solid beats with nice fills, some jazz flairs here and there.
But the reason I really love him is one thing: his creativity.
All he plays on is a four piece old Luddie kit and some K hats and crash/ride.
It REALLY shines when they perform live, with him doing everything from playing the rim of a floor tom on top of Paul Meany's [vocals, keys] keyboard to having to duct tape his headphones to his head.

A few vids, watch 'em if you want, I highly enjoyed them.

(The quality on some is sketchy at best, but hey. They were taken by the audience, probably on cell phones.)
