Congratulations. Yes, things will change. But, in no time, you will be unable to imagine your life without this wonderful little baby. It is an amazing experience. Very happy for you.

Re: pregnant

Congratualtions!!! I suggest that you go through the craziness of the pregnancy and birth, take some time to rest and enjoy your newborn son/daughter, and THEN buy him/her a drum kit. Nothing more than a four piece, and no more than two cymbals. Wouldn't want to spoil them now.

Cool man. Get ready for a positive and dramatic change in your life. Are you finding out if its a girl or boy? Or are you gonna keep it as a surprise? Any names picked out?

Well done, Jason. Nothing anyone says here can quite prepare you for what's about to happen to you. My little boy is three weeks old and it's been the most unreal and amazing three weeks of my life. You will love him or her so much it hurts. Going to work breaks my heart. Hope everything goes well with the pregnancy.

Congratulations, Nutha! Maybe in a few years you can put out a video like the Bonham family (Jason and John) one with Jason on drums as a kid.

Re: pregnant

Congrats Jason,

You have the BEST MOMENT OF YOUR WHOLE LIFE about to happen.

Everything you thought was fantastic in your life pales in comparison to what you are about to receive.

My first daughter was born C Section. The second that she cried for the first time, my entire life completely changed. I mean my life just changed in an instant. Everything I did, had a new perspective. It was like an out of body experience. Very spiritual. And I am not a religious or spiritual person!

I cried so loud, the nurses just looked at me! It was overwhelming in such a positive way.

Before my daughter was born, I was afraid to even touch an infant. But, it must have been instinct kicking in, because I just "knew" what to do with my daughter. Changing, feeding, holding. It was all just natural feeling. While my ex was in recovery from the C Section, I was alone with my daughter for the first couple of hours. Measuring, weighing and all that stuff. I will never forget taking care of her that first hour. Just holding her and being completely amazed. Definitely the best single moment of my entire life.

You might have additional kids in the future, but this experience with your first one will be like no other experience in your past or future. Enjoy it. I have a second daughter, and she is equally amazing, but I had already been "changed" into a father by the first one. I didn't have that "normal person to father" experience to go through again.

Also, get lots of pictures. They grow so fast. Before you know it your child will be 11 years old like my oldest daughter is now!!!!!

Again, congrats Jason!!!!

Re: pregnant

Jason, congrats to you and to Agi...this will be one of the most wonderful times of your life and the beginning of the most rewarding periods in your life.

My "kids" are at the other end of the range, 19, 22, & 25...I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every single year from newborn to the college years and now the working years.

I can only imagine the number of pictures between you and your wife...can't wait to share them with you.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful news! Best to both of you!

in all the years i've been on this forum no posts have made such a lumpin my throat as the ones on this thread. thanks so much guys. my wife is reading them too and she loves you lot.

i've already decided that my kids are going to grow up in a house of drums. when they go on their first playdate in a few years time i want them to be surprised that the family they visit don't have a few kits around (like a washing machine).

Re: pregnant

...congrats on your pending daddyhood.

The two happiest days of my life were when my two children were born. My daughter is 17, and my son is 13 now, but whenever I talk to a new or expectant father, it is like travelling back in time and I remember every moment of their births. These are moments that you will look back on and wish that you could replay in slow motion, as they will pass all too quickly. Enjoy every second.

Another good thing about those memories is that you can replay them when your daughter is in that junior high teenage exorcist phase where her head is spinning round and she is in full blown hormonal rant mode, and all you see is that shining baby face where you first realize that she recognizes you as the most important person in her life.

God Bless you and Mrs Jason.

Congratulations Nutha! That's awesome news. I had my first child almost 2 1/2 years ago, and I have always wondered...will he want to be a drummer? Will he like the drums? I am still not entirely sure, but he seems to have some fun with them. I think he could be ready for a kit, so I am going to buy him one of those miniature drum sets. I am going with the Ludwig Jr. model, which seems to be the most professional version out there...if you could call it that.

If you or anybody else knows about, or could recommend a miniaturized set I would be interested. I am looking for the best quality possible.

Following is some video of what you can look forward to in a couple years:

Congratulations! Start building your mini kit already, I think an 12" kick will do just fine before they are 4 years old, then you can move on to the 14" :-P.

Yay for J and A,

You guys are in for such a treat. Through my personal experience I have come to find that unconditional love does begin with marriage, yet it doesn't really take on its true meaning until you have a child together and that bond grows as you watch your own creation take shape, personality and unconditional love for the both of you.

Thats when you really know.

I wish you both all the best and hope nothing but happiness.

Much love,
Cory

Congrats, J!

I don't have a parenting story for you (which is a good thing since I'm only 18), but I wish you lots of luck with a safe and happy pregnancy and parenthood.

If you ever need a babysitter call me up! I charge the price of a pair of drumsticks an hour. lol.

God Bless!
