Rick Gratton

Is anybody familiar with his books "Rick's Licks"? I believe these were 3 different books that were eventually combined into one. I didn't check the whole message board to see if there's anything on him.
His ideas and books seem to be based on a lot of what Gary Chafee talked about in his books, although Rick takes it in his own direction.
The last I had heard of him, he was working with Marco Minneman on one of his DVDs a few years ago maybe directing and transcibing. Rick has one or two instructional videos of his own that were loaded with some great stuff. I don't think they're on DVD now. Anybody have any info?

Also, he's from Toronto, Canada I believe. His polyrhythm and linear ideas are truly killer. Dare I say an unsung hero?

I had the pleasure of meeting Rick last summer at a clinic. I got to sit right beside him as he did his thing. Man, can he ever play! Huge personality too, very funny guy. That was an inspiring afternoon...

I think he mentioned he was playing in the Dirty Dancing musical that was running at the time.

Thank you! Both for the comment and for a great site! =)

I would agree with those who say itīs a mystery why he hasīnt been more of a household name in the industry...

Many of his licks Iīm saving for (much) later! Very hard stuff!
