The Raconteurs

Like Jack, like the band, like the cover. Love the drum set-up. Check it out:

Saw these guys at Vegoose a couple of years ago and was prepared to be thoroughly unimpressed. I was dead wrong.

They put on a great show and while the guitars were really over-saturated in the mix, I still dug it. I downloaded the Vegoose set from bt.etree.org and still listen to it pretty frequently.

Now I see what all the hype about Jack White is about - put some more competant musicians behind him and the dude rocks.

cool. I'd love to see them live & listen to their music pretty frequently as well, though I've always been a fan of Jack's stuff.

BTW, I like the King Cobra logo. Just bought a Cobra 460cc driver & 3 wood. :-)

Being a drummer in Colorado, and playing Metal, i am thoroughly disappointed with this state's musical tastes.

Sorry your personal tastes aren't fulfilled here in CO. I've never known Colorado to be much of a metal state anyway - I'm sure there's plenty of metal happening, the demographic of the state just digs hippie bands. Which is good for me, because I dig hippie bands (and jazz and funk and fusion and blues, and metal etc etc..). If you look hard enought, there's some good stuff to be found. There's a really great metal band up here in the high country, I wish I could remember their name. We played in a a battle of the bands with them and they had people come from all over to see them play a 30 minute set.

I like the band, too. MUCH better drumming than Meg, of course. Can't go wrong w/ Champagne Sparkle luds!

Being a drummer not from Colorado, and playing almost everything but metal, I am thoroughly dissapointed with your attitude towards other genres (and probably your musical taste too).

Thanks for this post that has contributed so much to this thread.

Anyway, The Raconteurs (or Sabateurs as they call themselves in Australia) are a great band. Their new album rocks too. Pat Keeler is a very tastful player and the drum tracks on this record sound great.
