John Hollenbeck

Anyone else really dig his stuff? I really enjoy the Claudia quintet. However, what I like most about John is his large ensemble playing and composing. I have a couple Bob Brookmeyer New Art Orchestra Cds and his own large ensemble cd "A Blessing," all of which are brilliant in my opinion.

Great to see a name like John Hollenbeck mentioned here. He's a great artist. Great small-group approach to the playing with Bob B's big band, while still powering everything, putting out and swinging hard. A great all around musician also, as evident by his own projects.
