Drum Bloopers

1. I've done this a million times, but its still funny to see someone else do it :

2. On the other hand, this guy is so freakin' smooth.. like the James Bond of drummers...

2 sides of the same coin. 2 drummers, 2 solutions......

That big band drummer was great! He could play better with one stick than many could with two. Whenever I happen to drop a stick during a rehearsal (and don't happen to have a spare handy) I always try to play the same things I would play with two sticks. It rarely works quite as smoothly as in the clip, however...

Just another lesson to always have 2 (not 1) extra pairs of sticks handy.

Wow, that second drummer handled it real well. I wish I could do that.

The Mike Swope 'blooper' is a great lesson in how left hand comping is best kept sparse - he swung without any left hand at all

Holy smokes I had to watch that Mike Swoop guy again to notice the blooper! That was ridculously effortless. Inspiring to say the least.

Me too. I missed it at first and because I'm so used to watching one handed drummers i didn't notice anything wrong about it *lol*

Wonderful video, I loved the way he pulled the hit hat in closer too.
