Open for who?

If you are in a band, name your TOP 3 bands you guys would like to open for and WHY (If you're not in a band, pretend like you are in your ideal band and answer anyways).
Mine:

1) The Roots
2) Modest Mouse
3) Jamiroquai

Our band infuses elements of funk, reggae, jazz, and rock and more recently, an indie vibe, and those 3 seem to fit the bill perfectly.

Re: Open for who?

can these bands be partially deceased or broken up?

if so....

Led Zeppelin (we have a strong influence from them.. we cover them quite a bit)
RHCP (bring the funK)
Maybe The Pixies

personally i would love to open for a band like protest the hero or between the buried and me. but that isn't exactly what our band is like. just a style i'm into along with my band!

Re: Open for who?

1) Dream Theater, because they would make us look bad
2) Metallica, the ultimate concert band
3) Pantera, that would just be awesome to be on the same stage as them, they would bring the house down

TOOL: Do I really need to explain why?

THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND: Complete and pure inspiration.

DENNIS DEYOUNG: Opening for a legend like him would be the highlight of my life. Plus, I would get to hang with the dude and irritate him with obnoxious questions.

Re: Open for who?

Black Label Society
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lenny Kravitz

Dream Theater

Led Zeppelin

I have played alot of each of their music (drumming of course) and i have enourmous respect for each drummer's abilities. Also, each of those bands are insane.

Re: Open for who?

1. Mastodon because they're so great; They put on a good show, great heavy music , great sludge sound and Brann's such an inspiration

2. Opeth because they're just an epic band. Many of my favorite songs are Epics and many of them come from Opeth

3. Primus because who could ever say Polka Funk Metal didn't get the blood flowing?
