Joe is awesome, I'll never forget seeing him at a PAS event about 7 years ago. One of the greatest drummers to ever walk the earth.

Hahaha I love how he shows the excersise fairly slow first then does it at a ridculous speed and then just carries on talking. Shows how much of a truly great drummer he is when he can pull of those intense speeds so effortlessly, but utilising that ability in a melodic and rhythmic way.

Thanks alot Bernhard for these clips, looks like a great DVD I shall definatly invest in it.

Hahaha, now correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like he has his patented "JM" on his snare drum AND each individual tom head as well as his bass drum! That's halarious to me. That just made my day. =D

Joe Morello is simply awesome. When I watch and listen to Morello play, he not only makes me smile but also contemplate mastery and the beauty of music. The DVD will definitely be on my wish list. Thanks for sharing!

I loved these, I found it funny when he does an exercise at like 200mph they says 'Don't go fast, just build it up slowly'. Great stuff.

Erh, I think those are actually just DW heads and that's the DW Logo. I could be wrong htough.

For those of you who didn't think he was this fast, you now know why he's the master. I'm sure he could compete on the WFD for fastest single or double strokes and the guy is 80 y/o.

He's probably the drummer I would like most to meet, and more he's funny...

I've studied with Joe and it's just incredible seeing him do this stuff up close. I remember my first lesson with him, during a single stroke roll exercise his glasses slipped and he just continued on WITH HIS LEFT HAND ONLY while he adjusted his glasses. It was the sickest thing I'd ever seen. The sound of the roll never changed.

Later on, I found out that he does that to new students as a way of showing them where it's at. He also does it in one of the old videos here on Drummerworld.

Joe Morello is one of the few guys that ever lived who impressed Buddy with his playing. Considering what a hard-ass Buddy was, that itself is the best endorsement ever.

Holy Fazoli! I haven't been this sick since I heard Meg White play for the first time. The beauty of it is his effortlessness.

Aww, that's slightly spoiled it for me. I always liked to think it was a one-off moment of genius, rather than a deliberate trick to impress.
