Difference between PD-125 and PD-128S snares?

I'm a noob to drumming but am lucky enough to own the TD-30. Trust me I know I am in the presence of drummers far above my level. :-)

As a noob would I notice the difference between the PD-125 and PD-128S? Is the PD-128S something I could consider to bring my drums up towards the 30KV level?

Thanks!

Chuck

There is the very slightest difference in sensitivity for the rim sensor. That's the difference. Its really not worth the money to "upgrade" your snare as the TD-30 is giving you the best performance it can out of the pd-125. You, and 98% of all drummers, would probably never know the difference between a PD-125 and PD-128 if they were playing them side by side.

That is great news to hear!

What about the VH-13 Hi Hat? Worth the upgrade from the VH-11 that comes with the TD-30K?

Thanks Tommy.

The VH-13 is amazing. It plays as well as a set of acoustic hats. I have not tried the VH-11 on the TD-30, but from what I have heard from other people, they say the VH-13 is a significant upgrade. Its a pricey upgrade, but you will notice the difference much more than you will the PD-125/128 upgrade.

There is a very simple modification to take your pd 125 and give it the extra sensitivity mentioned here. Go on v drum forum and go in the DIY section and search it . Almost all of us did the mod and while it is not a huge difference, there is a difference and the mod is less than 15 dollars so why not? Check it out!

I have VH-13s with a TD-30 and I like them very much. I have not tried the VH-11.
