Using Just One Pedal of a Double Iron Cobra

I'm restoring my old 5 pc as a minimal kit for hauling, and am wondering if I should be looking at an additional pedal.

Can I use just the single (right) pedal of my IC RG unattached and alone, safely? It seemed, when I assembled it, that nothing would fall off the left side without the 'slave'. But I am not sure how my assessment would hold up after a few hundred beats.

(It's probably a silly question)

Sure. People do it all the time.

I've been doing this for about 7 years with my IC powerglide. Never an issue.
