Floor tom mounting hardware

So i have a PDP FS kit and the floor tom requires a mount. What kind of mount do I use? And mount it to a cymbal stand right?

Your kit didn't come with a mount? Their mount is linked below and yes you would clamp it to a cymbal stand. Gibraltar makes a similar mount. Rod size is 10.5 mm for PDP.

I say send the whole thing back and demand a kit that actually has legs for the floor tom!

Stand-mounted floor toms are so mid-80s Weckl ;)

Yes. Buy three brackets and three legs, mount the brackets to the shell, mount the legs in the brackets.

Gibraltar makes some fantastic FT leg brackets, I use these as retrofits on my Yamaha floor toms: https://www.google.com/shopping/prod...ed=0CHYQ8wIwBQ

They also make a more "traditional" looking bracket:

Then buy a set of floor tom legs (I recommend 10.5 mm legs such as these: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/drums...%5e14207114762), CAREFULLY install the brackets on your tom, and enjoy!

Or this option with no drilling required.

I like this idea a lot. Does anybody have experience with this? How does it mount on? And is it hard to do on your own?
