Where are you? (when you log in)

For me, its usually after work when the kids are finally in bed and the TV is on. Usually sitting next to my wife so she can be annoyed with the drumming videos etc.. haha.

Always the go to at the doctors office when waiting or in the air port via my smart phone but usually just to read this or that.

How about you? I never post from my cell but I think lots of people do here.

Re: Where are you? (when you log in)

Mostly I try to log in from my home office. 98% of the time that's between 6:00 am - 5:00 pm. I do occasionally check in and post limited after that on my Kindle Fire but when I do, I do so mostly as a reader and not a poster. I'm not very good typing long stuff on that.

I'm not quite a Luddite, but I'm pretty low-tech. I have no smartphone (I didn't even have a cell phone until a few years ago) so i log in from my laptop. Usually at home, sometimes from the WiFi connection at a coffee shop or library.

Sometimes my phone, usually when I'm """"meditating"""" (lol) on my laptop.

Anywhere, anytime :). Often from work (shhh don't tell) or on my ipad at home.

Re: Where are you? (when you log in)

Typically at home, but when I'm out, it could be anywhere. I don't have a smartphone, but there's usually a computer or tablet in my presence. So if I'm touring, I may be on the bus (we have mobile broadband), in a hotel, or in my dressing room.

There have been a few occasions in Europe where I didn't have my laptop, and used an internet cafe or hotel's business center to check email and browse forums.

I tend to log on while skydiving. I skydive A LOT.

I'm actually at my kitchen table all the time when I log on. But in my mind? I'm skydiving baby.

i thought the lavatory was for logging out?

Lately it's been at work for me. prior to the military it was just at home. But now that i've got this magical smart phone, As a matter of fact i created this account on my phone....

Anyway, one thing that's great about having a smart phone is you can do an emergency search prior to or during a gig! which makes me wonder.. how much easier would that be if they made a DRUMMERWORLD APP??

I'd pay for it....

Normally at home. Sometimes at work (you can tell by the typos) and at times at work on my iPhone hiding somewhere in the Hospital.

I always use a desktop computer, most often at home, or sometimes during lunch or my off period at work (I am a high school teacher). Peace and goodwill.

Forgive me.

I'm in your room. In front of the PC.

Sorry. Couldn't help it...

In the living room, kicked back in the recliner.

1) In my home office
2) Checking in briefly at work on the desktop
3) Twiddling with the smartphone

Re: Where are you? (when you log in)

Fewer phone users that I thought. It is amazing how the internet is available on a phone....glad there are no airline pilots logging on from the cockpit or something too.

I would spend a lot more time listening to the "drummers" section of this if the iPad had better speakers because my wife teases me when I have earphones in, plus it feels a little antisocial. I actually end up saving different things to listen to them on my desktop where there are better speakers.

Or it wasn't aimed at me was it?

99% of the time I'm at work on the PC, between calls (or on calls), emails, spreadsheets, and QC...never on my phone, because it annoys me to look at such a small screen.

I never log out. So....how about that? ( it's a good way to become constipated)

Of course that doesn't really answer the question, does it? I'm usually in my bedroom/living room. But on the phone I can be anywhere...bored. Usually at work with the phone though (it's a really boring job).

At the office (rather, the room where my PC is).
Which is the room where I'm working (doing translations).
Which is where I have a double pedal placed under my PC desk so I can practice a few hours a day (while doing other stuff 'upstairs').

I might check DW from another PC extremely seldom when having issues with my own PC which happens once a year or so. Never had a smartphone so the PC is the only way I've been accessing DW.

To add handwork I'd put up a pad on the PC desk in addition to the double pedal - when practicing to tutorials or watching online lessons, sometimes I'd add a 2nd hihat (made from cracked cymbals which I cut down). My regular drumkit is set up in a different room (my homestudio/music room) a few meters away.

(EDIT: I forgot to mention the 'restroom setup' - a Ludwig P4 practice pad & a pair of sticks - which I permanently have for... just in case. And those cases keep recurring several times a day, haha...)

Never heard of someone who practises as much as you and all over the house. I am jealous and your hands and feet are obviously incredible because of it. And the modified cymbals- I bet you eat your breakfast out of the bell of a ride cymbal :).

You must not be a full-time drummer! :)

Not compared to a lot off you guys. I read what some of you guys do and it sounds very productive. I usually log in with a beer in the other hand. Beer is PC, so let's just leave it at that.
