Ride Height

So I have a bit of a dilemma with my cymbal stands.

I play all DW 9000 series hardware and have found them to be extremely durable, which is really the reason I buy them more than anything else. My problem is that they are really too tall for my ride. I like my ride low and flat, but the DW's really dont allow me to do this. I have been using an old Pearl stand for my ride because it allows the angle I like, but I am so OCD that I cant handle having a mis-matched stand.

Does anybody have any experience with the DW 9701 low-rise stand? Is it signifigantly lower than the regular 9000 series stands. How do other drummers set up their ride to account for taller stands? Just looking for advice from other drummers.

Re: Ride Height

You could always suspend your ride from above to get it lower. I did that for a while:

I am going to answer my own questions. Found this on a competing website. May be useful to other DW members as well.

The DW 9701 looks like it might work for you. If I needed a shorter cymbal stand, that's what I would buy.
