DW hardware - produced in Taiwan or China?

HI all, a friend of mine just told me that DW actually doesn't have their own hardware factory. All the hardware is produced at other's factory in Taiwan or China.. is this true?

The pedals are assembled here in California.

But otherwise, yes.

Kaman I think makes their stuff, not 100% sure though. Ive been told its made by the same company that makes Gibraltar's stuff, which makes sense because they are both so simlar in designs.

Yes, it's true and no secret. Look at the little tag that accompanies DW hardware. It says "Made In Taiwan".

I have a hi hat stand purchased about a year ago that I remember was clearly labeled "Taiwan" or "China" either on the box or on a sticker on the stand.

I have an older double 5002 pedal from mid 90's that has "USA" on the footboard under "5000". The newer ones don't have this anymore, but instead has "the drummer's choice" in script. So I'm inclined to believe this may be the case for pedals too.
