Apartments?

Do any you live in apartments? I'm asking because the band I'm in will be moving to Austin, TX after High School. Currently we live in the middle of nowhere and don't have to worry about volume levels. I'm just curious how you guys practice in an apartment complex. I'd like to not play an electronic set.

Re: Apartments?

There is literally no possible way to have a band play in a complex.

My roommates play a bluegrass band. They don't even have an upright bass and neighbors still tell us to buzz off. I won't even stuff my bass with a dozen comforters and use brushes on my snare, although if I could we would be a sweet Mumford and Sons sound.

bottom line- no. sucks

Don't plan on ever playing acoustic drums in an apartment. Your best bet is to find a lock out type rehearsal space that you can rent out.

I live in Austin and, generally, this city is pretty musician friendly. You may want to check Craiglist for rehearsal spaces. You should find something there.
