Lightweight base for roc n soc
Hi all,
I am currently lightening my hardware bag at the moment and i have come to the stool. At the moment i have a roc n soc with the standard base and it is very heavy. I am looking at buying a much lighter weight one. I was thinking wether i could use the bottom of the range yamaha stool and take the seat of it and use that base with my roc n soc top. Has anyone done this or used a lightweight base with a roc n soc that would work well.
Thanks Jack

Re: Lightweight base for roc n soc
As long as the shaft on the throne base fits the receptacle on the bottom of the seat then it will work.

I lightened my hardware bag substantially but I kept the sturdy Roc-n-Soc throne and base.
I had an off brand lightweight throne base break while I was playing about 6 years ago and I fell backwards.
I decided that the extra weight of a good throne was worth the safety.
Yamaha hardware is strong so I don't think that you will have a problem with breakage.
