Hydraulic lever on my Gibraltar Hyrdraulic seat snapped off - worth repairing?

Its model # is 9608HM. Is the part I need to replace available for purchase? Thanks for any help/info.
edit - Here's a picture of the lever in question. It broke off flush with the tripod tube: http://www.gibraltarhardware.com/pic...hm_detail1.jpg

Contact Gibraltar or go to a local dealer. They should be able to supply you with a new piston assembly for less than a new base.

Where did it break off at? Near the point where it goes into the spindle? What is the mechanism like inside? If you asked for an OEM replacement, they might require you to buy a large mechanism and you'd have to install it anyway.

It could be that just a simple steel rod broke off and a replacement just needs to be cut and threaded, which could be a quick and simple fix.
