Arky 03-08-2013 08:01 PM

Re: admin

Very easy:
Go to: User CP / Send New Message /
To: Bernhard and/or bermuda and/or GRUNTERSDAD and/or Arky
That's it.

Say something bad about Ringo,
Or post a pic of a 100 piece Saturn kit.
You will be contacted by them :)

Lol Bob. How true.

I hear drum chat doesn't need 20 characters.

Re: Admins - how to contact them?

I usually just mention Arky's name in a thread and he's there, like next message. He must have some magic German Spidey sense for when he's being summoned.

ARKY!! Are you there?

Arky 03-26-2013 02:54 AM

Re: Admins - how to contact them?

Yes. Been beta testing Bill Bachman's DrumWorkout site...
6-stroke roll @ 130 bpm (32nd)... ooh, I have to push at that speed but it's getting better ;-)
That site is superb BTW. I really feel some progress on rudiments even within days. Yeah.

We have nighttime in Germany now so don't expect me to be around for hours.
I took a nap in the evening and woke up at midnight, haha. So what to do ? Right, doing some handwork...

11 minutes to respond to a thread where your name was mentioned... that's pretty slow Arky, that's like walking at a pace of 40 bpm (quarter note), you'll have to practice those senses of yours mate, if someone starts to insult me on the forum, I wanna be safe knowing you're just around the corner, watching for the good guys :)

I know... I agree it's slow. Qui Ark Jinn's power seems to be fading, haha.

I saw someone responed to this thread but it was a familiar username so I decided there's no need to check (he's RED but no MENACE, haha). Also, you know, when you're focusing on practicing along to some videos that have a few minutes running time you just have to pull through and _then_ have some water/check DW/scratch your nose/whatever. Priorities :-)

Plus, you know, when I'm in 'Bernhard mode' (watching new registering members) I have to switch account every time I want to post...

Well, you're improving Qui Ark Jinn, 10 minutes this time round, still a long way to go, but improving none the less :)

Do you fancy a bigger pic of Qui Ark Jinn Arky?

...

Arky 03-26-2013 09:58 AM

Re: Admins - how to contact them?

9 min this time. But... I've seen your reply earlier than that. Have to decide to switch accounts and post every time.
(Sometimes I would not switch accouts because there's some admin work to be done so I'd delay posting as Arky.)

Thanks for the bigger pic!

Let's put it this way: With spam, usually my reaction time is zero (often times minus zero - killing them even before they would hit the forum) to a few minutes.

Hahaha - nailed it Bob :)

Bmeat (beat your?), the mods reign in a parallel universe just left of Basel, & dispense their wisdom on a "he who grovels most" basis :)

Maybe the three fingers has something to do with my single stroke issues.

Well the portrait picture I use to create your Star Wars counterpart was created by you know whom... blame her if you feel it doesn't do you justice :)

You could start a thread named, Weird Al Sucks"
You will then soon be in touch with an administrator.

And possibly taking a vacation:)

Probably not but its best to be nice to the mods on any forum. How about an advertisement in the general discussion section for selling fake ID's passports and drivers license?

the thread title 'Drumming; Gods gift or a warning from the republicans?' may attract them pretty quick, especially in this font....

Taking 5 months to post on an old thread will certainly draw some attention.

... And if you want to summon an admin, just write his name in blood on your mirror with the lights off and say it out aloud three times...

What a creepy forum, I scared myself.

1) Who are the admins of this forum?

- Bernhard
- bermuda
- GRUNTERSDAD
- Arky (that's me)

2) Choose one admin, send him a PM with your matter and they'll take care of it (within reasonable limits, depending on whether your concern makes sense etc). If it's something related to registration/membership status, I'd be the admin who spends most of the time on that sort of things so sending a PM to Arky would be the quickest way to get things done.

3) Now if you already have a clear idea of which threads you're referring to - put the links to those threads in your PM to speed up the process/eliminate the guesswork. Thanks.

One general remark though: You might think those threads are 'stupid' but always keep in mind that once you got replies in the threads you started, this means that people took the time to reply so they were sharing their views/experience etc. to help you out. And it isn't really considered polite to just wipe away all those contributions because the OP suddenly thinks that those threads are 'stupid'. Always think of the benefit they could have for others, you know. I think this is tends to be a neglected aspect. Maybe those threads aren't as 'stupid' as you think they are - at least not for others who, as said, could benefit from the infos given/stuff discussed there. You never know. I'm pretty sure that members aren't browsing the forum for 'stupid' threads and once they found one, think: Oh man, what a stupid member. This is a stupid thread. - We all have days when we'd post some less than extraordinarily intellectual comment (or create a thread) so don't stress yourself ;-)

Hang on a second.

You start a thread to get in touch with an admin, the question is answered emphatically and you still need to ask how to get in touch with an admin? I would try reading a few replies.

Yes. I fear this may require far more assistance than any admin can provide. :-)

Jules, what's the best cape for running away from an admin?

There must be!

Just for the sake of extra information, I only play metal.

Insufficient data, can't process.
Sometimes info gets lost in wormholes or something - unfortunately, I'm not an expert on that.

How do I get in contact with an admin? It appears I may have a wormhole problem that I'd like them to deal with.

It's impossible to contact an admin. They reside in Banhammersville, a floating city above Iranistan with it's own private coast. They monitor your inner thoughts, & act according to whether they've had a full cooked English breakfast or not.

You have been contacted, of the Third Kind. Don't fear us, we come in peace. We are the 105 of moderators. You assemble us to save labor costs from the other galaxy. Bend me , shape me, anyway you want me. Long as you love me, it's alright.

tough crowd. in regards to my post last night, I just wanted to say hi. Arky, I'll think about what you said, then contact you guys :)

another quick question. If and when you guys count with your left foot, do you count the quarter notes or the eighth notes?

I found a great metronome app and it's helped me a lot. same question here, should I have it count quarter notes or eighth notes (if I want to improve)?

hardest part for me currently is focusing on just the and. it's annoying. a lot of guys do this on the hi hat and play a groove, but I just like to do it to catch a beat before the beat. kind of like a flam but not a flam more exactly to the beat. the flams are easier for some reason. also going after before is fun. like on the hardcore or punk beats they do the cymbal hits after isolated when their playing that fast groove. you're going fast bpm, 8ths on hi hat, snare every 1/4, and then you hit snare on the 1/4, but lag a cymbals or a bell behind. I get thrown off when I focus on it to hard but it's weird to just play an and as the groove sometimes then switching back.

I cant play just the and beat on the hi hat no matter what bpm LOL. the footwork just won't come it's weird.

Re: Admins - how to contact them?

Tough crowd indeed. It does help to know the forum rules. This isn't a place for technique questions, try the 'technique' sub-forum.

Re: Admins - how to contact them?

Oddly enough, I've never had this issue. Usually within my first hundred posts on a forum, the admins are "contacting" me.
