I like movies, and I got to see some for free while I was deployed. Here is what I HOPE will win.

Best actor: Mickey Roarke/The wrestler. (I am sick of Sean Penn)
Best Actress: Kate Winslet. (She's up for two) and she's going to cry.
Best Supporting actress: Tomei/The Wrestler
Best Supporting actor: Heath Ledger, or a crime against God and man will have been committed by the academy.
Best Music (song): slumdog
Best score: Slumdog
Best visual effects: Iron man, but Benjamin Button will steal it
Best animated: wall-e
Art direction: dark knight
Cinamatography: dark knight
Director: Slumdog
Adapted screenplay: Slumdog
Original Screenplay: In Bruges

I think you've got it spot on, but to be honest, I think W. should win best picture, and Sean Penn should get best actor, I loved milk :)

I didn't see milk, I will rent it eventually. I just don't want Penn to get up there with another 15 minute political diatribe.

Like or dislike Bush, I can't say "W" was all that great of a movie.

The reason is, all the supporting cast were very cartoony. They seemed unreal most of the time. I felt like I was watching a Mad TV skit.

I was disappointed that they omitted the air national guard stint for "W."

I know Oliver Stone despises Bush, but his movie, along with Spike Lee's "Miracle at Santa Anna" were cartoonish disappointments for me.

Here's what I got right and wrong....

Was hoping Mickey Roarke would win best actor ( havent seen the film ). Nice of Sean Penn to acknowledge him in his acceptance speech though.
