My Pearls

So I finally got a kit. Picked up a Pearl Vision VBX in concorde fade. The shells are all Birch, and the hardware is all Peal 900 series. My free 8" tom showed up on Friday as I was returning from Guitar Center with my P-902 double pedal. Talk about good timing, all I need now is my 14" floor tom. Then it's on to a lifetime of purchasing cymbals and accessories.

Specs:
8x7 Rack Tom
10x8 Rack Tom
12x9 Rack Tom
16x16 Floor Tom
14x5.5 Snare
22x18 Bass

Sabian B8 14" High Hats
Sabian B8 16" Thin Crash
Sabian B8 18" Thin Crash
Sabian B8 20" Ride

2xBC-900 Boom Stand
1xC-900 Straight Stand
1xH-900 High Hat Stand
1xS-900 Snare Stand
1xP-902 Double Pedal

Heads are all stock, once I get my 14" floor tom here in the next couple weeks I'll get new batter and reso heads all around. Crash is a bit high in the pics, had to shift the whole kit over an inch and back two in order to get everything where I wanted and still be able to open and close the door to the room.

NICE LOOKING KIT ! Very dark and stately looking, like the dark l
ugs too,are the pearl stock heads that bad?

No, the stock heads aren't that bad at all, just not my taste, very open sounding. Need some good coated batters, maybe some Onxy 2's. And some kind of baffling batter (like an emad 2 or emad 2 onyx) and stuffing for the bass. The room doesn't have much to deaden the sound, and it'll be a while before I'm micing them, so something that will give them a more recorded sound when played in the room would be ideal for me.
