Yamaha Dtxpress III with Roland or other mesh head snare?

hey guys,

i might possibly buy off my friend's Dtxpress III and I was wondering if I were to upgrade my snare to a Roland with a mesh head how well would it work?

i read somewhere that some people experience problems with the lighter hits using the Roland mesh snare on the Yamaha module. So my question is I'd just like some of your inputs regarding using another mesh-head over the Yamaha ekits.

Also, how well would a Pintech or Harts Dynamic mesh snare work with the Yamaha Dtxpress IIII module?

Never tried it mate- as I have mesh already- but I do know that you can have trigger issues- cross talk etc- it seems you may be better with Hart Dynamics as a direct replacement- I remember that being said in another forum sometime ago.

I dont think the Yamaha has accessable setting adjustments for the user to enable Pad input tweaks so that may be the only route if you want mesh.
