Hey guys , i just got the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra today.
It seems really good , but it seems i need to turn the gain all the way up almost for my acoustic guitar through my mic to be heard. Is this normal or fine?
Was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with their interfaces! Thanks alot!
Regards , Zoof!

We're going to need more details.

What kind of microphone, where are you positioning it?

To test it i was using a condenser microphone for recording acoustic guitar. Phantom Power is on and everything , and im positioning it about 5" from the 12th fret , pointing at it.

I mean aswell as there is no harm in having to put the gain up all the way almost (when its not clipping)? It should be fine.
Thanks again!

There is no harm in that, no. I tend to put the gain up quite high for most of my applications. When you're recording two feet from a set of tubas though, you might have to turn it down!

It really depends if you're getting a lot of extraneous noise when you turn it up. Providing the signal to noise ratio is ok then there should be no problem. That's what the gain is for, after all.
