Stand For Snare Drum

I bought a second-hand Yamaha Junior 12"snare drum--it came with a Yamaha snare drum stand--good fit. I recently upgraded to a 14" snare drum only to find that the stand was to small to take the 14" drum. Did Yamaha specifically make a stand for the 12" snare drum? So when buying a stand for the 14" snare drum is it a good idea to say it is for the 14"?

If you browse the brand/manufacturer web sites you'll see they have a specification for the stands' range of diameters.

Example here.

Yes, in the lighter weight 600 series. You probably have the SS662 model.

Yes, and if you‘d like to stay with Yamaha, all the higher 700, 800 and 900 series support larger snare drums. The medium weight SS740 retails for only $15 more than the SS662 and there are usually used ones on eBay & Reverb for the same or lower price.

If you’re open to other brands, like CB referenced above for Tama, most manufacturers will specify what drum diameters each model will support (e.g. basket size range).
