Not sure, I don't like to listen to music that is dominated by show-offy drums, , so I choose:

Tool - Lateralus
Oceansize - Frames
Let Yourself be Huge - Cloudkicker

Third one would probably change

Honestly? I'd bring some music I enjoy. I listen to music for the singer and the melody. Recordings just to listen to for the drumming? Possibly forever? Really? You'd get rescued ten years later, be totally insane, and no better at playing. Unless of course you washed up on this "island" with your drums in tow, plus cd's, plus stereo equipment, plus power for everything, plus......oh yeah, this thread is ridiculous. Just tell us your three favorite drum albums already!

I don't know, I mean usually great drummers are accompanied by other great musicians. In fact there's very few famous drummers I can think of that didn't play with good singers, bassists, guitarists etc. Thats especially true with all of the albums listed on this thread already

Close to the Edge. Yes. Every note on every instrument is perfect.

Rubber Soul. Beatles. Perfect album and a trip back to my youth.

Making Movies. Dire Straits. An album I could not live without by a fellow Geordie.

Not interested in simply listening to "Drumming" albums, never have been.

..and you know in advance you'll be stranded for a couple of weeks. You'll be the only person there. Fortunately, food will be abundant on this particular island. There'll be lots of bushes to carve some drumsticks from. You've been told you're only allowed to bring a penknife, CD player with lots of batteries and just three CDs.

What 3 grooviest, swingiest, most energetic and/or all out technical drumming CDs would you most want to take with you to keep you sane?
Any other "plant life" to help me through?

Moving Pictures -- Rush
Smile -- Brian Wilson
Joe's Garage - Frank Zappa - (all volumes counting as "one cd")

Yes - Close To The Edge.

Kansas - either of their first 3, self titled, Song For America, Masque.

Danny Gatton - Unfinished Business.
