Jeff Tain Watts & "In the Crease"

I found this awesome performance of the Branford Marsalis Quartet playing "In the Crease," from Contemporary Jazz. Tain's solo at the end--and his groove in general--are great in this song.

Can anyone help me out with the time signature(s) of this song? I think the signature of the ending bars where Tain is soloing (starting at 07:22) is in 5/4, but I'm not sure.

Appreciate any help anyone can offer on the time of the song; here's the live footage from Burghausen, May 8 2003.

Thanks for the feedback. I've since read via other sites that some say 5/4, and some say 10/8 (same thing, just felt differently).

Yeah, I think that could be cause the 5/4 feels very spacious (is that a word?) and open. 10/8 feels more comfortable as far as the drum phrasing is concerned.

Yeah, I agree with that reading of 5/4 vs. 10/8.

What do you all make of the opening of the tune? Is it in 4/4 with an ending in 5/4? Something like 4/4, 4/4, 4/4, 5/4, repeat?
