First post! Roland td-11: how to change sound on rims?

Hey! I've been drumming for several years on a Tama Rockstar 11 piece a set. Recently, I acquired a Roland td-11 and I'm trying to figure it out.

My question is: how do I change the sounds the rims make on each of the pads?
I've went into the settings, turned off the midi lock, went into midi and changed the number on the rim sound, but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Seems like a pretty great site! I'll see if I can't get a pic posted of my sets. Thanks!

I’m not sure if this is what you had in mind but from the TD-11 module select:

1. Press Menu button on module
2. Press button under INST (Instrument)
3. Press button under LINK (should be flashing)
4. Strike pad (or rim) you wish to change with a drumstick
5. Arrow up to instrument/pad on top and select Snare (or pad you want)
-- change selection by turning the center knob.
6. Arrow down to pad or instrument and change with selection knob
7. Exit – Exit to save

To Edit:
1. Follow steps 1-4 above
5. Click button under EDIT on module screen
6. Arrow up/down to select parameter (tuning, tone, volume, etc.) - change w/selection knob.
7. Exit – Exit to save
