*** UPDATE ***

- iOS version released

- we are known as rhythmtoolsfactory from now on

*** UPDATE ***

Dear Community,

World’s first DrumFill app for Google Android and iOS helps to get ideas for fill-ins on the drums, expand these ideas and bring them to perfection. Using the built-in metronome you can controlled learn to improve your timing from 40 to 200 bpm. And if nothing at all comes to your mind on the drumset, a random fill generator can create new fills for you.

Drumfill, the new utility by MKDrums offers you:

- more than 300 predefined fills
- three difficulties with variants for the beats 4, 3-4, 2-3-4 and 1-2-3-4
- countless other randomly generated fills

- full audio playback mode
- stepless adjustment of beats-per-minute
- pattern switching through shaking or flinging
- a full-fledged editor that allows addition, adjustment and removal of notes and flams
*new* - save your edited fills!

Hey Jorn,

yep, we know, but thanks for your interest! :) iOS will come when we see that it's worth it, cause it was freaking much work to get it done for Android. iOS will be less work, but we're having regular jobs and are spending our free time doing this. So, support the Android version and the iOS version will come soon :)

Best,
Jörn (one of the two programmers)

Wow, that's pretty awesome.

Straight away I thought of Dave Dicenso's book, you should see if he'll let you use his fills.

Looks like a great app! Unfortunately I don't have an Android device, so I'm eagerly waiting for an iOS version! Honestly, I think you'd make more money with an iOS version, it just seems to me that musicians overall prefer Apple products.

I agree :)

How did anyone become a good drummer before this much-needed computer program existed? I can't get my head around it, I mean it makes no sense.

"Ideas for fill-ins on the drums." Thumbs down from me.

All those Apple fanboys :) well, we gonna consider it, really. Good to hear that some people like the idea! And to con struct: you might want to think of the app as a drumbook with notes, just with more additional features. Maybe it makes more sense to you thinking of it that way, if not, well, bad luck for us ;)

I'm always stuck with drum fill ideas and when I get a really good one, which is a bit tricky on counting, I annoy myself sometimes working out the counting and how to play it with a click.
This seems really good.

If it was available for iPhone I'd get it.

Do we have have to be "fanboys" or can we just own Apple Products? If you wanted to sell an app why not make it for the most popular phone? Out.

Not to be negative, but I've almost never used a canned fill in my playing. When I go for a fill, it's based around the music. I let the overall rhythms dictate what I'm going to do. As such, I don't practice "filling" other than as sub-division exercises. Things like the "table of time" will train you to use whatever divisions of the beat you want and give you playing flexibility to do what naturally comes into your head.

You guys all really sit around practicing specific fills?

Similar approach here. Before starting drums I did worry about fills and how to build them. Now, with 3 years into it and focusing on rudiments a lot, a lot of stuff is simply flowing out of my hands. I've stopped caring about fills and would just play some rudiments (I do try to be creative with them) in a subdivision/phrasing that makes sense. Phrasing/dynamics is crucial I think.

sure, some people won't need inspiration. But then you guys probably will also never need any drumbook or the like ;) Other people will play similar fills over and over again and would need inspiration and new ideas. In my opinion, it's always better to get inspired by others rather than try to stay narrow-minded and do one's own thing. Whether you need our app for this is a matter of choice ofc'. Listening to music, watching youtube videos and thinking about new ideas for hours might be other ways. Anyway, our app is a great alternative for that :)
