If you judge the manufacture of your own shells in house as being an indication of overall quality, then C&C would be ahead by a bit. As the build of both companies is similar, I think it's a personal choice as to which is more suited to you. Both are respected builders. My personal opinion is that they both make ply drums to a high standard, & certainly equal to most high end ply drums from major manufacturers.
I've just retired my Spaun maple kit, & it's performed flawlessly gig after gig. Never an issue. I've also played C & C kits, & was impressed with them too.
