Buying Drum Hardware "Direct"?

I am thinking of building a kit (or at least a snare and a bass) and obviously need to buy hardware for the shells (hoops, tension rods, lugs, bass spurs, ect.).

However, I hear alot of people say that they buy hardware "Direct" from the manufacture for a very cheap price.

How does one go about buying Hardware at wholesale prices?

Not sure you can order parts from a particular company, but they would be available through a dealer, though not at very favorable pricing. Parts like that are meant for occasional replacement, not for assembling full drums or kits.

But there are distributors who sell generic parts, such as drummaker.com and precisiondrum.com You'll get better pricing, but you won't get Ludwig, DW, etc parts for example.
